Warm Springs here sits inside Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge, run by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, in Humboldt County about eighty seven miles from Winnemucca. Access is restricted. The water is called warm in the record, no number given. Refuge rules, more than the spring itself, will decide a visit.
Bog Hot Road comes within a couple hundred yards, and the spring is a short walk from it across refuge land. The elevation is a bit over four thousand feet, among the lower spots in this part of the state. Snow totals roughly two feet a winter and the yearly moisture is low.
