Hot Springs Near Icy Point

Glacier Bay National Park has hot springs near Icy Point, at sea level, measured at 153 degrees and scalding at the source. The Park Service lists access as open. Haines is the closest town, about eighty-four miles away, and the nearest road is close to forty miles from the springs. No pool or structure is described on file.

The climate is very wet: precipitation on file runs past eleven feet a year and snow close to twelve, with a mean temperature in the mid forties. Park land all around, and how anyone gets in is not on file.
Open to the public with no fee on record. The record prefers the first quarter of the year. Water this hot scalds. The record shows no campground. Check with the park before attempting the roadless approach, and expect the rain to be part of any plan.
