The water here is only warm, around the temperature of a tepid bath. This is an unnamed Pershing County thermal point seventy-five miles from Lovelock. The landowner is not listed, and public access is unknown. The USGS measured dissolved solids in February 1980 and found them low. No pH and no other minerals were recorded.

Location

A short walk from a road that goes unnamed, a couple of tenths of a mile. Low basin country, about two feet of snow in winter, a dry year. With neither land owner nor unit on file, the setting past the road is unknown. No camping recorded.

December to February are the rated months, though eighty-degree water will feel cool in a Nevada winter. Establish who owns the ground before heading out. No fee, no campground on file. The only chemistry is one dissolved-solids reading from 1980.

Terrain

Aircraft with laser scanners measured this ground to within inches. The scan strips out trees and buildings, leaving the bare shape of the land around this spring.

Heat Below
85 milliwatts per square meter of heat flow

That's about 1½ times the US average of 65. It's higher than at 23% of the springs on this site.

Heat flow measures the warmth working its way up through the ground from deep inside the earth. Where it runs high, rain and snowmelt that seep down through cracks in the rock come back up hot.
