Double Hot Springs
Double Hot Springs is remote even by Nevada standards, sixty-seven miles from Lovelock in Pershing County. The water comes out scalding, far beyond anything safe to enter at the source. No landowner is recorded and public access is unknown. A USGS thermal site marks the spot.
Around three hundred feet off an unnamed road, so you drive to it. The ground is low and dry: seven inches of precipitation annually, plus roughly twelve inches of snow across the cold months. Nearly four thousand feet in elevation.
Winter, per the record. Scalding source water. Keep your distance from the outflow, and never assume a downstream pool has cooled without testing it yourself. Ownership and access are blank, so the legal side is on you to check. No campground listed, and the nearest town is a long way off, so fuel up.
