Public, open BLM land is the headline at Hyder Hot Springs, forty-two miles from Lovelock in Pershing County and managed out of the Humboldt River Field Office. Source water is scalding, in the one-seventies. A 2009 USGS sample found it neutral in pH and heavy in dissolved minerals, with iron among them. Open access and a named road make it straightforward to find on a map.
The springs are a few hundred feet off Jersey Valley Road, a short walk across BLM ground. At thirty-five hundred feet this is low, dry basin, an eight-inch precipitation year and barely a foot of snow through winter. No special designation applies to the parcel.
The winter months are listed as best, and the light snowfall here is a point in their favor. Give the source water a wide berth; it is scalding. No fee is recorded and no campground is listed. The chemistry is recent enough to trust as a general picture.
