McCoy Springs, fifty-one miles from Battle Mountain in Lander County, is a hot spring beside McCoy Road with water at about one hundred twenty degrees, hot enough to need cooling before anyone could soak. A USGS sample from October 2009 found neutral water with a fairly high mineral content, iron included. Owner and access are blank on file.
McCoy Road runs within about three hundred feet. Elevation is low basin, thirty-seven hundred feet, and the climate is dry with winter snow that stays under two feet and annual precipitation near nine inches. No land unit is given.
Dead of winter is when the record says to go. Stay in this water long enough and it will burn you, so test before committing. Nothing on file mentions a fee or a campground, and nobody has established who may enter, so get that settled first. Chemistry from 2009 is recent enough to trust.
