Blue Eagle Springs are warm springs in White Pine County, a long sixty miles from Ely. Tepid water, warm on the skin and well short of a hot soak. The USGS sampled it in 1981. Owner and access status are both absent from the record, and that gap matters more than the temperature does.

Location

Roadside. The springs are a couple of hundred feet from a road that is unnamed on file. They sit below five thousand feet in eastern Nevada basin country, with six inches of annual precipitation, which is arid by any measure, and a modest sixteen inches or so of snow across a winter.

The cold months score best on the record, which for tepid water is a matter of contrast with the air. Owner and access are both unknown; the ground could be private, so get permission sorted before you go in. The 1981 sample is the only chemistry on file, near-neutral pH.

Terrain

Aircraft with laser scanners measured this ground to within inches. The scan strips out trees and buildings, leaving the bare shape of the land around Blue Eagle Springs.

Heat Below
86 milliwatts per square meter of heat flow

That's about 1½ times the US average of 65. It's higher than at 23% of the springs on this site.

Heat flow measures the warmth working its way up through the ground from deep inside the earth. Where it runs high, rain and snowmelt that seep down through cracks in the rock come back up hot.
