Dall Hot Springs

Dall Hot Springs is a Fairbanks North Star Borough spring a hundred miles from Ester, the nearest town the record names, and sixteen miles from anything called a road. The water is hot, past comfortable soaking without cooling. Ownership and access are both blank on file. Chemistry, too.
The closest road goes by the name Winter Trail and sits over sixteen miles off, so this is a true backcountry approach. Elevation is low, around four hundred feet. Climate follows the dry, cold Interior pattern: an average in the twenties and three feet or so of snow. Five Mile Campground is the nearest on record, twenty-two miles away.
Deep winter rates highest of the months on record. Let the water cool off before you get in. Both the landowner and the right to visit are unanswered, so start there. Five Mile Campground is the only camping noted, and it is nowhere near the spring.

Five Mile Campground is located approximately 4 miles north of the Yukon River crossing, at Dalton Highway milepost 60. Newly improved in 2022, it offers a vault toilet, potable water in an artesian well, the only RV dump station along the Dalton Highway, and 7 gravel campsites each with a picnic table and fire ring.
