Gas Rocks Hot Spring is a hot, slightly acidic spring near sea level in the Dillingham Census Area, more than a hundred miles from Dillingham itself. The water is hot enough to be uncomfortable straight out of the ground. No land owner or access status appears in the record, so the question of permission stays open.
Almost at the tide line. The closest thing to a road is a jeep trail roughly sixteen miles away, and nothing is known about the ground between. Rain through the year, cool summers, a moderate snowpack. This is backcountry by any measure, and the listing gives no land unit and no campground to aim for.
The climate record points to December through March as the best stretch. Hot water, so test before contact and expect to let it cool. The pH reading came back on the acidic side, from a sample taken in 1977, with nothing newer on file. Access and ownership are unrecorded; find out before going.
