Hot springs near Makushin Volcano, nearly twenty-eight hundred feet up, inside the Alaska Maritime refuge on the western side of the Aleutians. The record marks them hot without attaching a temperature. Access is restricted. Dutch Harbor is the community the listing names as closest. Nothing suggests these have been developed in any way.
High ground for the islands, with a heavy snow total and an annual mean right around freezing. A jeep path from World War II is the nearest road, close to six miles away; past its end the ground is refuge backcountry with no described route. Rain in most months. Fish and Wildlife holds the land.
No best months given. Restricted access, which means the refuge office before anything else. Hot but unmeasured, so no soak can be promised and scalding cannot be ruled out. The snow figure is large. Nothing is recorded for fees, and nothing for a cabin or campground.
