Little Melozitna Hot Springs
The orange dot marks the spring, in a frame about three quarters of a mile wide.
Little Melozitna Hot Springs is a BLM managed thermal spring in interior Alaska, open to the public and far from everything. Healy is the town listed nearest, at about 164 miles. The temperature was never taken and no photograph exists. What the record does say: it is open, and nearly fourteen miles out from any road.
Under nine hundred feet, in country where the average hovers in the upper twenties. Snowfall is moderate and precipitation light. No name is given for the road used as the reference point. Central Yukon Field Office ground, backcountry class. Denali Borough.
Best months are not flagged. Fourteen miles cross country is a serious trip, and the temperature at the end is unknown. No campground and no fee; access open. Expect to do all the research yourself.
USGS hasn't flown a detailed laser scan here yet, so this view comes from aerial photos and older elevation data.
