About twenty-one miles from Battle Mountain, Izzenhood Ranch Springs puts out warm water in Lander County. It runs in the high eighties, warm to the touch and below body heat, the sort of temperature that feels good on a cold day and lukewarm on a hot one. A 1992 USGS sample showed neutral water with few dissolved solids. The record is silent on who holds the land and on public access.
Rock Creek Ranch Road is the closest road, and from it the springs are close to a mile on foot. Elevation is basin country under five thousand feet, where a normal winter brings two feet of snowfall and the year's precipitation is eleven inches.
The record favors midwinter. A mile of walking through snow is a different proposition from a mile in October, so time it with the weather. The land may be private; nothing on file confirms either way. The water is safe to touch at this temperature. Nothing is noted about fees or camping.
