Spring
Unnamed spring twenty-five miles or so from Pahrump in Nye County, on Pahrump Field Office land that the BLM lists as open. The water sits right at the border between tepid and soaking warm. Nothing more is named in the record.
Three tenths of a mile on foot, off an unnamed road. Low desert, somewhere around twenty-two hundred feet. Snow is not a factor and rain comes to three inches in a year. Summer will be brutal.
December through February. Open access. No fee is on file and no campground is listed. No water sample exists in the record, so mineral content is unknown. The temperature rests on a USGS reading alone.
Aircraft with laser scanners measured this ground to within inches. The scan strips out trees and buildings, leaving the bare shape of the land around Spring.

Heat flow measures the warmth working its way up through the ground from deep inside the earth. Where it runs high, rain and snowmelt that seep down through cracks in the rock come back up hot.
