Red Hill Hot Spring
Scalding water comes up here, hotter than any tap will run and past the point where skin burns on contact. Red Hill Hot Spring sits roughly 1.5 miles from Monroe, in Sevier County. The USGS logs it as a roadside thermal site. Ownership and the rules for visiting are absent from the record, which is a bigger problem than usual when water is this hot.
Three hundred feet or so separates the water from a road nobody named. Roughly 5,650 feet up, on the edge of the Sevier Valley. Snow comes down heavy, about five feet in a season, and dry conditions hold through everything else. No land manager turns up anywhere.
Winter months are listed as best. The water is scalding; treat the source as dangerous and do not touch the outflow without knowing how far it has cooled. Adelaide Campground is about seventeen miles out. No water chemistry has been sampled here. Access status is unknown, so confirm before entering.
