Granite Falls Hot Springs is a hot spring in Teton National Forest, about eighteen miles from Jackson, Wyoming, in Teton County. The water comes out at 112 degrees, hot enough that most people want it cooler before sitting in it. The Forest Service manages the land and access is open. This site also lists Granite Hot Spring nearby, and Wikipedia describes them as one place.
The closest road, name not recorded, is only a tenth of a mile away. Sitting near 6,900 feet, the place gets severe winters. Over thirteen feet of snow. Precipitation for the year runs a bit past two and a half feet. This is national forest land, and Hoback Guard Station, ten miles or so out, is the nearest camping listed.
Hot enough to need care: ease in and move if it is too much. The record lists winter as the best season; with thirteen feet of snow that will mean whatever the Forest Service keeps open. According to Wikipedia, early settlers dug a pool at Granite Hot Springs to catch the water, and the site is kept up by the Forest Service. The USGS holds a separate station number for this point.
