Hot Spring Near Tuluksak River
The orange dot marks the spring, in a frame about three quarters of a mile wide.
Inside the Yukon Delta National Wildlife Refuge, somewhere near the Tuluksak River, a hot spring shows up on the record with almost nothing attached to it. No measured temperature, and no elevation either. The qualifier on file says hot and stops there. Bethel is the closest town, roughly forty miles out, and the refuge marks access restricted. Anyone hoping to soak here should hold off on expectations until a real reading exists.
Federal refuge land under the Fish and Wildlife Service. The spring sits under four miles from a road that goes unnamed on the record, and the access class is a hike. Snow on file is modest, under four feet, and the climate runs on the dry side at around two feet of precipitation. The yearly mean temperature hovers right at freezing.
No best months on file, so season is your call; with a hike-in approach, the snow season will complicate things. Restricted access on the refuge means asking Yukon Delta refuge staff first. Temperature is unmeasured, so do not count on soaking. Neither a campground nor a fee is on record, and the spring carries no second name.
USGS hasn't flown a detailed laser scan here yet, so this view comes from aerial photos and older elevation data.
