Newberry Spring
Newberry Spring is a tepid desert spring beside the National Old Trails Highway in San Bernardino County, twenty-odd miles out of Barstow. The temperature on file is in the high seventies. Neither the owner nor the public access status is recorded, and the record attaches no land unit.
Roadside on the old highway, two hundred-odd feet from the pavement, on the Mojave floor at a bit under two thousand feet. Rain totals about four inches annually. Snow does not figure. Sawtooth Canyon campground, about twenty miles off, is the closest on record.
Winter months are the ones on record. The water is tepid. Ownership and access are unknown, so find out before stopping. No fee on file. Expect heat in summer.
