Hot Springs Near South BM is a BLM thermal site in the North Slope Borough, sixty-odd miles out of Barrow and open to the public. The water runs at 122 degrees, hot, past comfortable. It sits a bit over a thousand feet up, thirty-seven miles from Eleven Mile Landing Strip Road. The Central Yukon Field Office manages the ground.
The land is public, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Eleven Mile Landing Strip Road is what the record lists for a road; the class is backcountry and the record has no route for it. Cold, dry country. The mean temperature stays in the mid twenties. Precipitation comes in under two feet, with snow near six.
Open access and nothing about a fee on file. The first two months of the year plus December are flagged best. Hot enough to hurt; check it before getting in. Camping: nothing listed. The landing strip road is the last one, with nothing described between it and the springs.
