Double O Spring
Double O Spring is a warm spring on Bureau of Land Management ground in Harney County, a bit over twenty miles from Hines. Access is listed as open. The water is tepid, closer to a cool bath than a hot one, so it suits people curious about desert springs more than anyone hoping to soak. A photo is on file.
Figure on a short walk of about a third of a mile. Which road you start from is not named on record. The BLM's Burns Three Rivers Field Office manages the land. Basin country, a shade over four thousand feet up. A couple of feet of snow comes across a winter, and summers run dry.
December through February are the listed best months, though with water this cool a warm day might serve better. Open public access makes this one of the simpler Harney County springs to visit. The most recent water sample dates to summer 2017 and showed neutral pH. No campground is on record close by.
