One of a pair of similarly named springs on BLM ground in Tooele County, Deseret Livestock South Spring is marked open on the record and sits fourteen miles from Grantsville. The water is warm, low seventies, which rules out a proper soak for most people. No chemistry was sampled.

Location

Roadside, under fifty yards from the pavement, on land run by the BLM Salt Lake Field Office. Mid-elevation valley, with a dryish climate and two feet or so of snow in winter. Loop Campground is the closest on file, eight and a half miles or thereabouts. The designation is plain public land.

Listed best months are December through February. No fee appears. Open BLM land, no permission needed beyond the usual rules. The temperature came from a survey, so do not count on it being warm enough. Grantsville is where you would stock up. Check the neighboring South Springs entry too, since the two are easy to confuse.

Heat Below
113 milliwatts per square meter of heat flow

That's about 1½ times the US average of 65. It's higher than at 64% of the springs on this site.

Heat flow measures the warmth working its way up through the ground from deep inside the earth. Where it runs high, rain and snowmelt that seep down through cracks in the rock come back up hot.
