Roosevelt Hot Springs
Roosevelt Hot Springs is a hot source in Beaver County, roughly a dozen miles out of Milford. Hot here means hot, well above anything you would put a hand in for long, so this is a thing to see and not a pool to enter. No owner and no public access status appear on file. The only chemistry is a pH reading and a chloride number from a sample taken in 1955.
A road comes within a couple hundred feet of it, though which road is not specified, and at that distance there is hardly any walking involved. You are at about six thousand feet in dry country, thirteen inches of moisture in a year, and winters put down around four feet of snow. Nothing on file says what land unit this is in or who manages it. A photograph is attached to the record.
The best months listed are the winter ones, December to February. The water is hot enough to burn skin, so keep your distance from the outflow and keep dogs back. Hanging Rock Campground is about twenty miles away and is the only camping listed. Access is not on record, and the one water sample is seventy years old, so verify both before you drive out.
